Pangeos: Exploring the Enormous Floating City of Saudi Giants
In the realm of ambitious architectural marvels, a groundbreaking project known as the Pangeos ship is poised to redefine luxury and innovation on the open seas. Named after the ancient supercontinent that shaped Earth’s history, this colossal endeavor is set to transform the waters into a floating city, captivating the imagination of all who encounter it.
Envisioned to be a new “artificial wonder” by the Saudi giants, the Pangeos ship is slated to emerge as the world’s largest ocean liner, a true masterpiece of engineering and design. With construction expected to commence in Saudi Arabia in 2023, this awe-inspiring creation is projected to carry a price tag of up to 8 billion USD and a completion timeline of approximately 8 years.
Renowned Italian designer Pierpaolo Lazzarini will bring his visionary expertise to the project, crafting a real living habitat within this floating city. The Pangeos ship aims to encapsulate the essence of a grand metropolis while afloat, offering a range of amenities and spaces that mirror those found in land-based cities – including parks, retail centers, public transport, and even hotels or ports for smaller ships and aircraft for guest arrivals and departures.
Once realized, the sea turtle yacht will make history as the largest floating superstructure ever constructed, boasting dimensions that span an impressive 550 meters in length and 610 meters in width. This vast expanse will render Pangeos three times larger than the current largest yacht in the world, the Azzam yacht.
Inside Pangeos, the accommodations will be as grand as the vessel itself. Some apartments will offer sweeping views of the central port area, while others will provide vistas of the endless sea. Hotels, shopping malls, and clubs will cater to the diverse needs of even the most discerning guests, ensuring a seamless blend of luxury and comfort.
To bring the Pangeos ship to life, the designers have chosen Saudi Arabia as the location for its construction. Covering an expanse of about 1 square kilometer of the sea, the project involves dredging and the creation of a circular dam to accommodate the vast construction. In a departure from traditional maritime operations, Pangeos will not be confined to a set port or itinerary. Instead, it will adopt a flexible schedule, transforming the journey itself into a destination. This unique approach is poised to make it an irresistible vacation spot for the affluent elite.
With the ambitious aim of becoming the world’s largest superyacht, Pangeos is projected to house a staggering 60,000 visitors, including the crew and staff required to ensure a seamless experience. In addition to its luxurious hotels, the floating city will offer upscale accommodations, including 69 apartments and 19 luxury villas, allowing guests to enjoy unparalleled opulence on the open waters.
As Pangeos sets sail into the realm of maritime grandeur, it is destined to leave an indelible mark on the world, a testament to human ingenuity and the insatiable pursuit of luxury. With its ability to merge the elegance of a thriving city with the serenity of the sea, the Pangeos ship is poised to redefine the very notion of luxury travel.
